Columbia River Quarantine Station from 1899 to 1938

Visit this historic site ~ 'the Columbia River's ELLIS ISLAND' ~ to experience history where it happened. Thousands of immigrants, lured to the Pacific Northwest by the salmon and timber industries, passed through a required U.S. Public Health Service inspection at this Port of Entry. View artifacts and learn about the layers of history in the Knappton Cove Heritage Center museum housed in the the old Quarantine Hospital (Lazaretto / Pesthouse).
