The Warrenton Community Library is hosting author Brittany Sweet at "Library After Dark" on Saturday, December 13 at 4 p.m. Brittany will share more about her writing process, read excerpts from her work and answer audience questions. Brittany Sweet is an Oregon Coast author whose work spans children’s literature and modern poetry. Her titles, including "Bye Bye Buoy", "Encore for Eleanor", and "I’ll Carry You Forever", combine coastal imagery with themes of courage, identity, and self-acceptance. Known for her lyrical voice and emotional depth, Brittany creates stories that inspire readers of all ages to see beauty in their differences. Her poetry collection, "Coffee Over Dead Friends", highlights grieving in all forms, exploring love, friendship, and self-discovery in modern times. Brittany’s books are available locally inside the Columbia River Maritime Museum and Rascals Gift Shop, and she regularly attends craft fairs and farmers markets across the Oregon Coast to share her stories with readers in person. She continues to write and connect with her community by attending poetry events like Women Who Write to Heal and reading to preschools locally! More information can be found on her website, www.sweetbookshelf.com. Author talk starts at 4 p.m.; refreshments and mingling at 5 p.m. Special thanks to Gaetano's Market & Deli for sponsoring the food. "Library After Dark" is a monthly PNW author series. This event is free to attend and is hosted by the Friends of Warrenton Community Library.
